Who they are: Idols

Idols 2010 was the first round of an ongoing project of photographing Slovenian role models, successful personalities that have made important impact in their field, built a fan base and continue to influence others. The 2010 round consisted of top Slovenian athletes.  

  • Dejan Zavec, former IBF welterweight boxing world champion.
  • Sara Isaković, freestyle swimmer, winner of an Olympic silver medal in Beijing and the European Champion in freestyle swimming from 2008.
  • Boštjan Nachbar, basketball player, former NBA.
  • Primož Brezec, basketball player, former NBA.
  • Robert Kranjec, ski jumper, 2012 ski flying world champion, top ski flying competitior in the world in recent years.
  • Petra Majdič, cross country skier, winner of an olympic bronze medal and the Terry Fox Fundation Award from the 2010 Vancouver winter Olympic Games, where she had an accident, but continued to race and win bronze with four broken ribs and a pneumothorax.
  • Jure Košir, alpine skier, winner of the first World Cup golden medal for independent Slovenia, top 3 in world skiing from 1993 to 1999.
  • Samir Handanović, football team Slovenia goalkeeper, one of best European goalkeepers.
  • Lucija Polavder, judoka, two times European Champion in +78kg, silver world championship medalist in 2007 and bronze olympic medalist in Beijing 2008.
  • Anže Kopitar, hockey player, NHL star, Los Angeles Kings.
  • Basketball players Goran Dragić and his brother Zoran Dragić, NBA.
  • Radoslav Nesterović, basketball player, former NBA.
  • Marko Milić, basketball player, former NBA.
